I Choose Joy
Joy is a choice. This choice comes about in knowing that no matter what is going on, EVERYTHING is working out for the good of those who loved the Lord. Regardless of the circumstances, the Father has given you everything that pertained to life and godliness.
Similarly, to a cloudy, rainy day, even though you may not see the sun, there is sunshine that exists simultaneously with the gloomy day. The sun is right beyond those clouds, beaming beautiful rays of warmth and glory.
When problems come, think on those things that are beyond the problems. Think on the promises that are before you, think on those things that are lovely, pure, and of good report.
Scriptures to meditate on during a difficult time:
And do not be grieved, the Joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1: 2-4)
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord. (Psalms 27: 6)

Know Your Worth
My dear sisters, do you know your worth? Not only are many of you impacting your immediate circle (whether it is with your immediate family, work-family, or church family) but many of you are vital & instrumental in raising women and men to impact society and the Kingdom of God. Your son might be the next Martin Luther King, Jr. (whose mother taught school until she married and then became heavily involved in her church as she raised her children). Martin Luther King Jr. gave tribute to his mother in an essay when he stated that she was behind the scenes setting forth those motherly cares, the lack of which leaves a missing link in life. Perhaps, you are that “behind the scenes “mom. What you are storing in your children is invaluable!
The enemy would have those individuals who have not birthed a child to question their worth. Instead of focusing on the impact as a mother at heart, the enemy wants those individuals to focus on the fact that there must be something wrong. Why haven’t I had a child to raise yet? Let me encourage you to think about the individuals you have loved and nurtured in your circle. If you say, you cannot think of anyone, let me encourage you to start giving that love to some child today; there are plenty of organizations where you can volunteer to be a mentor or a big sister.
Don’t believe the lies! You are fearfully and wonderfully made. The Lord God knows the plans He has for you and it is to prosper you and give you a future and hope.
Today, Mother's Day, is a day set aside to honor mothers- those who are physically mothers and those mothers at the heart. It is amazing what God has stored in us! Thank you for all that you do as you impact the world for the Kingdom of God.

Psalms 91 verse 1

Psalm 91:1(a) “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High …”
We have comfort and assurance in knowing that God, the Most High, is “possessor of heaven and earth”, which is first revealed to Abram in Genesis 14: 17-23. As the possessor of heaven and earth, God the Most High has and exercises authority in both the realm of heaven and earth. Accordingly, HE purposefully arranges all physical circumstances, and history before creation, which guarantees every scene of life works to HIS eternal purpose. In Ephesians 1:11, Apostle Paul writes “…being predestined according to the purpose of HIM who worketh all things after the counsel of HIS own will.
Psalm 91:1(b) “…shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”
As the Most High, God is possessor of both heaven and earth, working all things after the counsel of HIS will. What about God the Almighty? Just as Abram, God wants us to also “know” HIM intimately as the Almighty. To know HIM is to experience HIM. Working all things after the counsel of HIS will, HE, through providence orchestrates situations in our lives that provide proof of HIS presence. Nowhere in the writings of the Books of Ruth, Esther, and Nehemiah we find God speaking to either of them. However, in each, the main character faces personal crisis, in the natural, that causes them take action to see the eventual salvation of God.
For Ruth, it was the loss of husband; for Esther, risking life to go before the king; and for Nehemiah, the destruction of the walls of Jerusalem. In each, God remains silent, but that silence does not mean absence, as we know how HE through HIS providence brought about a spiritual end higher than either of them could fathom. Likewise, for us HE is omnipresent as the Almighty, working things for our greater good, as we abide under the comfort and reassurance of HIS shadow.
